Whether you call them aerial work platforms (AWP), elevating work platforms (EWP) or mobile elevating work platforms (MEWP), these machines have one purpose – give your workers and their equipment access to hard-to-reach work areas.
While they’re convenient on the jobsite, they do come some issues — mostly weight related. These machines are costly to transport, difficult to maneuver and — once you get them to the jobsite — there are lifting restrictions based on the total weight of the machine and cargo.
What if weight became less of an issue?
At CIP, we fabricate high-strength low-alloy steel (HSLA) multi-bend parts for aerial work platforms including:
- Self-Propelled Boom Lifts
- Truck Mounted
- Bridge Inspection Machines
These parts are stronger than the industry standard, but are up to 25% lighter.
That means these machines weigh less, but have increased lift capacities and improved energy efficiency with no loss of strength.
In addition, overall multi-bend production costs are nearly 20% lower than rectangular section production costs.
